SETAC Interest Groups
SETAC Interest Groups provide a vital forum for professionals in the environmental sciences to advance a scientific topic under the SETAC umbrella, with oversight from governance. The groups’ activities range from sponsorship of platform and poster sessions at SETAC global meetings to proposing and supporting focused topic meetings, symposia and workshops. They are also instrumental in identifying current scientific topics of interest to the society.
Benefits of Interest Groups
There are many reasons to join and benefits to IG membership, including:
- Learn about and contribute to the state of the science in the topic area
- Network with thought leaders in the topic area
- Collaborate on publications with the top scientists in the field
- Contribute to shape the direction of the topic area within SETAC and the greater scientific community by participating in Interest Group-sponsored session proposals and by participating in the organization of focus topic meeting, symposia, and workshops

Interest Group Guidelines
Interest Groups are governed by the SETAC Interest Group Guidelines and the SETAC Interest Group Charter Guidelines. The guidelines list ideas for types of projects IGs can undertake to advance their mission.
