Centered in North America
The scope of this Interest Group (IG) is mechanistic effect modeling (MEM) for the risk assessment of chemicals in North America as influenced by US or Canadian regulatory requirements.
MEMs can be used for a large variety of chemicals (metals and organics) with various uses (e.g., agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and personal care products), and a large variety of species (e.g., aquatic and terrestrial animals and plants). This IG aims to serve as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, promoting the development of existing methodologies (e.g., MC Nest, Fish Tox Translator, GUTS models) and new approaches, guidelines, and best practices for MEMs applicable under the North American context.
