ET&C & IEAM Call for Papers: Tackling Aquatic Contamination Issues in Rapidly Developing Countries Under a Changing Environment
Economic growth in rapidly developing countries in recent decades has brought about significant changes in human activities and lifestyles, including land use change, intensive agriculture, industrial development and rapid urbanization. These changes have posed great challenges to national water safety and management. Climate change has further intensified the vulnerability of water quality in rapidly developing countries. As such, scientific efforts are important to achieve balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability in this nation. This special series aims to assemble contributions on the understanding of aquatic contamination and ecological risk in rapidly developing countries, particularly the issues under changing environment. Investigations that apply field observations, experimental data and scientific modeling to analyze complexity and uncertainty of water contamination and risk in rapidly developing countries are welcome.
Articles submitted to this special series should highlight new knowledge related to chemical contamination and aquatic toxicology, including a variety of in silico, in vitro and in vivo methods, with the goal of understanding the aquatic ecosystem and the related human health. Submissions should also include new laboratory techniques, approaches, and/or systems to investigate these scientific questions.
This joint special series (ET&C and IEAM) aims to assemble contributions on the understanding of aquatic contamination and ecological risk in rapidly developing regions such as China, particularly under changing environmental conditions.
Manuscripts are due 31 December. Submit to ET&C or IEAM using “Aquatic Contamination” as the special issue designation in the drop-down. Please read the ET&C author guidelines and the IEAM author guidelines before submitting.
